LaRessistens was born in Bilbao in 2001. The group was developed within a meeting space and multidisciplinary investigation area where it became involved in plastic arts, sound space and performance, to create different works, performances, concerts, shows, puppets, actions, etc.
“Fa en cuarta” is the story of a woman’s inner self, her lights and shadows, the space that she is in, and her battle to overcome abandonment.
An out-of-tune cello that was abandoned by the musician that left. An inward looking and quiet woman, who needs someone’s hands to tune her up and make her vibrate.
After a long period of abandonment, a crack in time, a hazardous cause brings the moment when the cello awakens and tells us about its torn strings, its tuning peg that was not working properly, its forgotten notes, … another musical instrument that was out of tune, which hardly remembers who it is.
“Fa en cuarta” stems from the relationship between the body of the cello and the body of a woman, both as regards shape and inner essence.
“Fa en cuarta” is a story for adults that describes a soul that is about to collapse, but particularly, of a woman, or a chello? or a musician, or a lover?
